The MammaMaternity Story

How were we conceived?

MammaMaternity was established in May 2024 by Shantel Jjumba -, a student midwife driven to enhance maternity experiences for all families. Based on her lived experiences from loved ones and friends - Shantel believed her calling was midwifery but her impact within current NHS felt limited.  With the disparities of healthcare outcomes for black and black heritage women - Shantel thought to herself ' how can she tackle the problem head on?'
Leveraging off her midwifery expertise and years of experience, she aims to provide vital information and serivces to numerous families, underpinned by MammaMaternity's belief that everyone is entitled to a fair and positive birth experience.
